Latest additions to your online portfolio

We’ve been rolling out ninja updates since launching, and since many of you haven’t really had an outlet to discover them I thought I would take the time to point out the more important ones. Since launch in November, we’ve added the following to the application:

1) Audio projects. This goes out to those musicians out there who wish to show off their creations. We didn’t want to leave anyone out.

2) A demo. Even though registration is free, some people would rather just go ahead and try it out before registering. Understandable, I suppose, figuring out if the interface suits you is an important factor.

3) Flickr set importing. My personal favorite. When adding images to your project, just select the “Import a set from Flickr” option, enter your set’s URL, and we’ll magically gather up images from your set for you. Then you knock out any images you don’t want and click import. Easy.

4) External showcase embedding. So you’ve got your own web site/blog already and want a simple way to display your stuff there instead of on our site? Not a problem. In your home area there’s a new “Embed” button which will let you generate a script to place on your site. There are various styling options you can choose from to get the perfect look that’ll let you blend it nicely into your site’s theme.

5) Premium accounts. Premium accounts give you way more projects and files as well as advanced showcase options and the removal of the SHOWN’D logo (if you wish) at the bottom of your showcase. At just $5/month (paid annually) it’s a steal.

6) Agency directory. Fill out the required fields in the “About you” section to have your design agency appear in the listing. Prospective clients will be able to search through the listings to find your agency and, who knows, maybe offer you a gig.

We have various things in the works including a selection of themes you can use to display your showcase. Hopefully this will give users much more customization options.
